The Praying Mantis® catcher's mitt, by Akadema, is the most innovative catcher's mitt ever to hit the market. Akadema's Praying Mantis® catcher's mitt was developed with many unique features that set it apart from the competition. Akadema's new patent pending Stress Wedge technology, which is located between the index finger and thumb, gives the Akadema Praying Mantis® catcher's mitt the shock absorbing protection the competition can't match. Akadema's Stress Wedge technology protects the catcher's hand against injury and sting when receiving the ball. The Praying Mantis® catcher's mitt, by Akadema, also offers two additional Finger Hammocks, which permit the catcher's fingers to be firmly positioned and more secure in the glove. Akadema's Double-sided Slim Padding and Akadema's Double Flexhinge, which makes the glove snap closed when the ball enters the glove, allows for an increased pocket size and makes it easier for the catcher to hang onto the ball. In addition, Akadema's distinctively designed shape allows the throwing hand easier access into the pocket. Easier access results in a quicker glove to hand transfer and faster times to second base.
